ABOUT THE ARTIST

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and am currently teaching art at Jenison High School! I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University in 2015 with a degree in Art Education K-12, my focus in painting. I am grateful that each day I have the opportunity to teach others something I am passionate about. I value the arts in education and encourage my students to take chances, try new things, and express themselves through a variety of exploratory techniques.

Painting is part of who I am. Throughout my life, my professors, friends, family, and other artists have helped me discover a style of painting I feel confident with and that brings be joy. Many of my works of art are inspired by places I have traveled to but also the emotions from those memories.

I am thankful for family and friends that encourage me to keep growing as an artist no matter how fast time flies and busy life gets!
